The current state of bdf

Bronze dragon flight's player base has been steadily declining over the past few years, that much is evident. Recruitment even back in wrath was rather difficult. The realm had a strong start back in tbc but with the departure of high profile guilds and the removal of the "recommended for new players" status there is hardly any influx of new players.

Apart from the guild I absolutely see no reason in staying, I held high hopes for a realm merge but after more than 4 months of waiting it seems less and less likely that bdf will receive any meaningful merge.
I really wanted to check out mythic SoO before the expansion hits, but this seems rather unlikely.

I've been asked by the guild leader of A New Hope to join them in progression, but that only made me realise even more that there's very few guilds competing on this server, apart from league of shadows there's really no other heroic guild.

I got a taste for the hardcore scene playing in Inner Sanctum's guild wars2 sister guild. It felt really satisfying.
I want to try and put my foot in the door of the hardcore scene of wow for WoD but I'm very reluctant to leave frostmourne after 5 years, especially now a lot of people seem to be returning.

Understand how you feel.  It's a bit like banging your head on the wall  ??? .  When I came back couple of months ago, FM had 3 people online on average, I was asked to join Made in Poland (my first ever raiding guild), which I did on my hunter.  They are currently 6/14 heroic but I've been a poor addition to their progression as people started popping back up in FM and I just prefer to spend my in game time with Frosties, can't help it.  There are quite a few lovely people in MiP, progression is good, raid spot is there if I want it (tho probably stretching the GM's patience thin by not showing up regularly lately) but I realized that what I really want is good raiding progression with FM.

Wish we could take the guild and magically move it to a more raiding friendly environment but don't think that's happening anytime soon.

Trouble with recruitment, apart from lack of players, is, very few people in game nowadays, across the board, this realm or others, are willing to build something from scratch.  Most seem to want to hop on a train that's already pushing forward.  The fact that prime raiding  time for this xpac is past us is probably not helping.

If you feel you really want to peak into higher level of Soo, I'd say go for it.  Realistically, it's not going to happen with FM.

Think what we'd like to aim for, is getting enough people together to run normal mode systematically, get back on a casual but regular schedule and only once that is achieved, look at what we need and how to get there, in regard to WOD. Idealy, enough motivated and dedicated people to create 2x 10men with some leverage.

You've been in FM long enough to know how we raided.  As fun as it was, we often, even during prime time back in Wrath, lacked more then 10-15 dedicated raiders that cared for something more then normals, and we were only able to run heroic 10s.

It doesn't mean our ways won't change, but atm, and in the near future, there will not be any raiding at the level you are after. At the level I'd be after.  Chances of recruiting half a dozen of 550+ players to jump straight into normal farm mode for a couple of weeks then onto the challenging content are rather slim.

I was actually considering, while sitting in oqueue last night waiting for an invite, that it may be a good idea to start pugging the Saturday normal on our realm.  It's hard to imagine there are no people floating around not sure where to go or what to do, considering how many guilds just vanished from BDF, and it seems quite a few people are returning to WoW to take another peak, possibly finding themselves homeless.

The alt runs, back in Wrath contributed greatly to recruitment.  A succesfull raid night is the best form of advertising for the guild really, however, in order to do that, those of us that care to raid in the guild, need to get to a decent ilevel first, and that is greatly a matter of luck.

I have been oqueueing like mad, and during the whole week, got one item on the priest.  With all the convinience thrown into the game over the years, it seems very awkward that catching up has been made so rough this xpac.  The differences in healing/dmg/mitigation output from LFR through Flex to Normal/Heroic nearly double at each stage.

Running people through attunement quests back in BC was less of a headache and could have been done in couple of weeks; gear differences did not make the 'boosted' person feel like a completely useless element given they knew their class.  Now, that is secondary, gear is what makes the most difference.

Can't wait till the number squash is live and the screwed up, massive scaling that renders skill almost useless is gone.

Until then, it will be hard work, bordering impossible given the state of the realm, to try and rebuild a raiding team; but both me and Maf are quite determined to get this going.  Can't guarantee we'll be successful, nor give a time frame, but, we wouldn't be trying if we thought the situation was hopeless.

Whatever you decide, FM will always be here for you.

If you leave, you better get heroic/mythic Garosh down, else the guild cheering commitee will be massively disappointed and might have to punish your hunter by forcing him to parade in a pink dress at prime time on WoD launch day ;)

On a second thought, we might do it anyhow :D

Oh, and not letting you off Challange Modes, nor Herald of the Titans! Wherever you may end up, I will find you!  Your uber outfit does not scare me.  Well, maybe a little bit  ...

I've thought about it a lot, spoke some more with the guildleader of A New Hope and I've decided to pull my shaman out of Frostmourne to progress with them a bit. Try and get Ahead of The Curve: Garrosh I really hope I don't offend anyone, I'll leave my hunter in Frostmourne and hope to be able to join you guys in Flex and Celestials should you need the extra healer. :)

If Bronze Dragonflight does get a merge before WoD, I'll see from there. But otherwise I'll move my Shammy over to Silvermoon and hopefully get some serious raiding done that Xpac. as it'll probably be my last Xpac i'll have the time to play.
